8 weeks after the start of the Weinberg Campus Accelerator
Who is part of it? What happened so far and what is the outlook?
About 8 weeks of the Startup-Accelerator have passed which means we are almost halfway through the program: a lot has happened, a lot is yet to come but let me fill you in the details.
Starting a brand new format is always facing some challenges regarding the organization, implementation, acquisition, and announcement. This time it has been twice as onerous due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Accepting a two-month delay in the start of the intensive 4-month lasting pogram we still managed to get some amazing startups and founding
projects on board of the Weinberg Campus Accelerator.
The Startup-Accelerator commenced in the beginning of August with six registered cutting-edge startups within the life science and biomedicine industry. Their innovative ideas reach from plant-based vaccines, wound healing with elastine, natural care products to Organ-on-Chip models,
biopharmaceutics for cancer therapy and to the development of a health application. We are very proud te be part of their journey in the Weinberg Campus Accelerator and are looking forward to their further development.
The Weinberg Campus Accelerator Team consists of five people who cover diverse task fields. Karsten Andrae is the head of the program and is occupied with the overall coordination and account management. Kathleen Bier is in charge of the project management, organisation, and communication of the Startup-Accelerator whereas Dr. Susann Lindemeyer is responsible for the acquisition and account management. Bert-Morten Arnicke is our expert in marketing and communication and last but not least Doreen Ochsenreiter handles all documention and is the interface to the funding body. However, the brain behind the Weinberg Campus Accelerator is Dr. Ulf-Marten Schmieder.
During the Startup-Accelerator we have several workshop topics prepared for our participants. Besides HR, CSR, Time & Project Management or Conversation & Negotiation Techniques the startups will be tought four main areas. For those subjects we were able to engage four highly- skilled and experienced coaches: Dr. Merle Fuchs covers Business Model Development, the Finance part is taken over by Daniel Worch, Dr. med Holger Anhalt is the expert in Certification & Quality Management, and Carsten Grieme is in charge of Marketing & Sales.
