How to find a Business Idea? Well, that question could be the 1 Million Dollar question at “Who wants to be a millionaire”. Frankly spoken, there is not one true, right or wrong answer to that. Business Ideas come and go, some stay and some vanish. One might think that nowadays it is impossible to find something new people are waiting for. Well, don’t panic, it doesn’t always have to be something completely new. To help you in this process we will give you 10 ways to find your kick-ass Business Idea. So read further.

1. Distance yourself from originality

You don’t always have to think big. Sometimes it is the little things that make the difference. So distance yourself from the idea of creating something revolutionary or completely new.

2. Solve a problem

What is it that is not working out or is really annoying you? I am sure you are thinking of something specific at the moment. I am sure you know of something that you would like to change, a problem that exists in your life or society. And if not then pay attention to your surroundings, to your everyday life. There must be somthing you are not 100% happy with. This is your chance to find opportunities…opportunities for a new Business Idea.

Find a gap in society, a problem people want to be solved and there you have your Business Idea.

3. Seize on trends

Be a trend-setter. Watch the news, go to different places, even different countries or cities and have an eye on what is trending there. This will be your chance to jump on the bandwagon and be among the first ones with that yet still unknown trend. With the view of the big picture and an entrepreneurial attitude you can thus, find new approaches that enable opportunities for a new Business Idea.

4. What’s your passion

Think about your biggest passion, your favourite hobby that you would love to do 24/7. Did I just see a smile on your face? A huge source of inspiration can be something you do in your leisure time and are an absolute expert in. You can take this to the next level and turn it into a business. Voilà it can be so easy.

Turn your passion into a Business Model. What is it that you are really good in and you enjoy doing? This might be it!

5. 10 ideas a day

10 ideas a day is a very useful and powerful technique to get your brain into top gear. It can help you to let your imagination flow and just think outside the box. The good thing is it can be any thought that comes into your mind you can start working with. Even if you cannot resume with one idae another one will come. And any idea is better than no one. So write down 10 ideas a day that pop up in your head.

6. Make something better

In today’s world endless products and services exist that don’t work or no one needs. So why don’t you take a look at those things that would need some alterations to completely satisfy one’s needs? Discover a problem or a gap within a service or a product that is rather preventing consumers from using it correctly or in the worst case from using it at all. This is your call to make it better and find a solution to the problem.

Look for an existing service and product that still needs some imrpovement or alterations.

7. Start by doing anything

Don’t be shy to start with a silly idea. It is the process that counts. Design Thinking is an advantageous tool to train your mind and to find new perspectives. It also gives you an idea on how to see through the eye of a consumer. So even though your first idea might not lead you anywhere, it is still a good training to see how much you can eleborate it.

8. Distract yourself

When you have trouble focusing and finishing your task, then why don’t put everything aside and do something completely different? Don’t force yourself with coming up with a new idea at once. Instead distrcact yourself, walk around, meet friends, go to the movies and so on and so further….do what your heart desires. The best ideas come into our mind when we expect it the least. So try it out!

Do something completely different and distract your mind. It makes you receptive to new ideas.

9. Talk to people

Another good way to find a Business Idea is to talk to family and friends. You never know what they experience in their daily consumption and take notice of. They might have something in mind that needs to be changed that you would have never thought of.

10. Explore needs

And while you are talking to other people listen to what they articulate, what are missing in their lives, what they wish they had or was different. Where there is a need there is a source for a new Business Idea, isn’t it?

What is it that the society is missing? Talk to people and find out about their needs and demands.

We hope tat with this articel we could help you finding your Business Idea. The next step is ti actually found your startup. If you don’t know how to start your own business then the article about Starting a Business: 10 Things You Need to Do might help you.
